San Luis Obispo Soccer Club travels to the Santa Barbara Summer Cup
STORM Girls Teams Gu13 and Gu18 reach Finals!!
Gu13 STORMers entered the final undefeated, without allowing a goal until running into a very strong Laguna Hills Eclipse team. The "thirteens" going into the final round as defending champs in 2008 were a little banged up and tired. Injuries to key players prevented the team from finishing strong, losing to Eclipse 3-1. Mic Mott was stellar for the "Blacks" in the Final.
Gu15 Girls STORM finished strong with an impressive 3-0 win over Los Gauchos G15's. The STORMing Fifteens allowed only a single goal, finishing at 2-1-0. Brady Candaele and Laura Greene were outstanding in the team's final match. Nadine Reed had seven shots on goal, including hitting the woodwork twice.
Gu18 had a fantastic weekend going 3-0-0, with no goals allowed in pool play, and reached the Final and lost 1-0 on a last minute chip shot over keeper Kelly Koch. Koch was outstanding in goal, receiving Golden Glove honors. Deirdre Laird, Paige Carlstrom and Viv Devaney anchored a staunch defense.
SLOSC traveled with nine girls and boys teams to Santa Barbara, and overall a fantastic showing for our players and coaches. Thank you!
